QUILL AWARDS & GRAHAM PERKIN AWARD

The Quill Awards for Excellence in Victorian Journalism are the premier media awards in the state, presented by the Melbourne Press Club.

The best of the 29 individual Quill winners is awarded the prestigious Gold Quill.

The Graham Perkin Australian Journalist of the Year Award is the most coveted prize in Australian journalism. The Perkin is independently administered by the Melbourne Press Club, which appoints the judges. It is presented each year alongside the Quill Awards.

It was an impressive night for Fairfax, winning multiple awards in various categories.

Senior business journalist Adele Ferguson was awarded the prestigious Gold Quill for her tenacious reporting, together with ABC collaborators, on major financial planning scandals. Adele also won the Graham Perkin Australian Journalist of the year award.

The Melbourne Press Club Quill Awards for 2014 were held on March 20, 2015. 

It was an impressive night for Fairfax, with The Age, collecting 14 of the 28 awards and 3AW also collecting two awards.

Senior business journalist Adele Ferguson was awarded the prestigious Gold Quill for her tenacious reporting, together with ABC collaborators, on major financial planning scandals. Adele also won an award in the Best Business Story category.

The Melbourne Press Club Quill Awards & Graham Perkin Award 2013

The Melbourne Press Club Quill Awards for 2013 was an impressive night for Fairfax Media journalists, picking up 11 awards overall across metro, regional and radio.

The night included the presentation of the prestigious national journalism award, the Graham Perkin Australian Journalist of the Year, which went to The Age’s chief football writer Caroline Wilson. She won for her coverage of the Essendon Football Club drug scandal last year.

The Age was well represented among the Quill winners, picking up seven awards – more awards than any other media organisation – including awards for:
