With weather being such a topical conversation, Fairfax Media ran a study to explore how people access Weatherzone and whether their usage patterns differ by devices. In addition, we wanted to understand the Weatherzone mobile audience in terms of their demographic and behavioural characteristics across key categories such as travel, finance and auto.

The research found that;

  • Mobile is ‘hot’ when it comes to accessing Weatherzone, with 89% accessing on a mobile device
  • It’s the norm to access Weatherzone multiple times a day, with two-in-five accessing several times a day
  • Weatherzone’s mobile properties have national reach, reaching equal share of city and regional dwellers
